New Scottish talent : Biffy Clyro, one of the best rock band in the 21st century

Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil at Reading 2013Brand new album « Opposites » from the Scottish band Biffy Clyro was an exiting event for British fans.

This is the sixth album after 2007’s “Puzzle” and 2009’s “Only Revolutions”. Biffy Clyro produced this 72min double album in Santa Monica (California) which inspired the band a lot. The famous trio added many musicians for recording songs such as “Opposites” ; you can hear a real orchestra playing behind the Scottish band in the first track “Stingin’Belle”. Whereas track 2 “Modern Magic Formula” is a really hard-rock song, with loud overdrived guitars, bass and a quickly drums rhythm.

“Opposites” is an excellent album, we can imagine how hard the band worked on it, spending time on every details which sounds very harmonious for a rock band.

Simon Neil’s Band shows real potential at challenging bands like Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chilly Peppers by doing huge concerts like they did in Reading this summer. Fans were mesmerized by the performance of the musicians, alternating pop, rock and hard rock songs with a lot of improved jam sessions. Biffy Clyro makes their songs sound like Biffy Clyro and not like someone else.

The next step for the increasingly popular band will be to extend their fan base in Europe and North America. Biffy Clyro was until 2012 a first-class rock band only in the UK. But I think Biffy Clyro will have no difficulty extending their popularity around the globe. “Opposites” expresses the talent of Neil Simon and the Johnston brothers; they reach to create both sadness and hapiness, fast tone attacks, rhythm variations and impressive melodies in the same album.

The band’s European tour begins on November 1st, with concerts in famous places : Vienna (Gasometer), Paris (Trianon), Berlin (Columbiahalle), Madrid (Riviera) and Brussels (AB) wich will be an opportunity to prove to Europe their real potential.

We will be in Paris (November, 30th) with Biffy Clyro to give you reports from their show at “Le Trianon”. You can follow the band through this link : http://www.biffyclyro.com/splash/2013-winter-euro-tour
